Mix 5 grams (2 level teaspoons) of Captain Calm Powder Drink 125g or 4 grams (approx. 1 heaped teaspoon) of Captain Calm Powder Drink 200g into 100 mL of full cream milk for the added benefits of tryptophan. Are the flavours natural?
Yes! We use premium plant based flavours that are created using only natural processing methods such as heating, fermenting and pressing. There is nothing artificial in our Captain Calm.
What does it taste like?
Captain Calm tastes like a blissful bubblegum flavoured drink that will make your kids fall in love with this purple superfood blend. We have combined premium dried fruit powders with natural plant based flavours to deliver a unique and fun calming drink.
What is thaumatin?
For parents' peace of mind, rest assured that we only use natural sweeteners across all of our products. Our Captain Calm contains thaumatin, which is sourced from the katemfe fruit, Thaumatococcus daniellii, found in the West African rainforests. Thaumatin is a very sweet protein that is extremely powerful so we only need to use tiny tiny amounts of it. Just to put into perspective, stevia is 200 times sweeter than sucrose, while thaumatin is about 2000 times sweeter than sucrose! Mother nature is indeed super powerful.
Is it pregnancy & breastfeeding friendly?
Yes! In saying this, we do advise on all our products to seek advice from your health care professional on taking our products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We only say so as we believe that every pregnancy is different, taking a toll differently on each individual body in vitamin, mineral and energy levels. What are the benefits of Magnesium?
Magnesium helps the body relax. This nutrient reduces the tension accumulated in your body and mind, promoting a calming and soothing environment. For example, most bath soaks contain magnesium to promote a complete experience of pure relaxation; sports ointments or sprays for muscle relaxation contain magnesium. Plus most sleeping and stress-relief supplements on the market also contain magnesium as the main active ingredient. Our Captain Calm surely does contain magnesium, to be precise 74% of your child's recommended dietary intake per serve.
What are the benefits of B Vitamins and Vitamin D?
The human body contains several biological pathways responsible to perform a complexity of tasks and each of them require a variety of compounds to work properly. Example, the Sleep-Wake cycle requires different hormones, enzymes and cofactors to be functional. Several studies have indicated the positive impacts of vitamin D and B vitamins (specifically B1, B6 and Folate) on body relaxation and calming pathways. Captain Calm contains the cofactors necessary to promote a calming and soothing time for your little ones.
Aren't sugars bad for kids? If this is a calming product, why are there sugars?
This is a VERY good question. Let's break it down. Sugars are essential for brain function, as our brain relies on sugar as its main and preferred source of energy. So we need sugar to be able to function properly. Dietary carbohydrates (i.e. sugar) play an important role in facilitating the transportation of tryptophan to the place where it is needed. Therefore sugars are indeed necessary to promote a relaxing and calming time.

Is Captain Calm gluten free?
Yes! The recipe does not contain any gluten containing ingredients and we make sure that Captain Calm is manufactured and packed in a gluten free environment.
Is it vegan?
Yes. Captain Calm ( in powdered form ) does not contain any animal derived ingredients, so it is considered vegan. However keep in mind that if you follow our serving suggestion of adding this powdered drink to cow's milk, it will not be vegan and it will contain dairy. For a dairy free and vegan option add to plant-based milks.
I am a grown up, can I have this product?
NO, go find some grown up food! (Jokes). Anyone can have our delicious and nutritious product. However we specifically designed this product to meet young children's needs (between 1-3 years). But anyone older than 1 year of age can take this product, including adults. The only thing is that adults need a higher amount of nutrients when compared to young children.
